Who We Are

Independent Policy Research for the Global South

"3Bi bridges rigorous research, grassroots realities, and policy influence to deliver actionable solutions."

Founded in 2019 and forged in Sudan's most challenging moments — COVID-19, the 2020 catastrophic floods, and the post-2021 coup period — 3Bi carries a unique institutional DNA. We combine academic rigour with deep community relationships, offering what international consultants cannot: contextual legitimacy and indigenous knowledge.

About 3Bi

Built in Crisis.
Built for Change.

3Bi was forged in Sudan's most difficult years. That experience is not background — it is our competitive advantage.

Mission

Bridging Evidence and Action

3Bi bridges rigorous research, grassroots realities, and policy influence to deliver actionable solutions for Sudan and East Africa's most pressing challenges while strengthening the capacity of democratic institutions and political actors.

Our dual mandate — independent policy research and transparent political advisory services — positions 3Bi uniquely in the region's policy landscape. We serve the public interest through rigorous analysis and serve Sudan's democratic development through capacity-building for political institutions.

Vision
A Sudan and East Africa where evidence-based policymaking, inclusive governance, and climate-resilient development enable communities to thrive with dignity and agency.
TAGLINE
Evidence for Resilience
Policy. Communities. Change.
Our Values

What Drives Us

Independence
Research agenda set by researchers, not funders. We publish all findings regardless of political sensitivity.
Community Accountability
We answer to the communities we study, not just to donors. Grassroots legitimacy is our most valuable asset.
Indigenous Knowledge
Sudanese and East African intellectual traditions are not background context — they are central to our methodology.
Rigour
Academic standards, ethical research practices, and transparent methodology — without sacrificing policy relevance.
Adaptability
We maintained operations through COVID-19, catastrophic floods, and a military coup. Resilience is institutional, not incidental.
Transparency
All funding sources publicly disclosed. Ethics policy governing consulting work. No single donor exceeds 25% of budget.
